WOMBS Doula Courses are run by professional midwives in order to provide the highest standard of education. All the trainers are registered with the International Childbirth Educators Association.
NB – The WOMBS doula course is generally not offered to formally accredited health professionals, including midwives, nurses, assistant nurses and doctors, due to the potential conflict of interest between their clinical professional role and the non-clinical role and scope of a doula.
However, applicants who are no longer practicing in their clinical profession may be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account their individual circumstances and professional history. An interview will form part of this assessment.
NB – Our training is only offered to women who are mothers themselves, i.e. been pregnant, given birth and are mothers to their own biological babies.
